James “JB” Besterfeldt started selling sheepskin rugs from the Antlers Trading Post parking lot in Frisco Colorado. JB set up camp with a trailer and built wooden racks to hang his wares outdoors. He had a great summer business and decided he needed a winter location. In 1979 he moved indoors, opening the Twisted Pine Fur & Leather, at Lincoln West Mall in Breckenridge Colorado.
JB’s vision for the Twisted Pine was inspired by the most beautiful vista in the world, the Rocky Mountains. JB has cultivated a line of luxurious goods for both men and women that are impervious to the whims of fashion. Between the European and domestic craftsmanship and design, he has been able to present a truly unique collection. JB’s distinctive style and uncompromising quality will always be the Twisted Pine hallmark.
